SPECIALIST CRAFT TUTOR - two-year programme
ELIGIBILITY
In order to apply for course entrance, applicants must have upper secondary school (high school education) qualifications or the equivalent with complete certificates in Swedish, English and Mathematics.
They must also have one year of documented work experience, nine months of which should be within one of the caring professions (health care sector, child or elder care, school, or other social activities). Part-time jobs can be re-counted to correspond to a full-time job. All applicants will need to prove their artistic aptitude by submitting samples of art work.

Applications must be made on a form (available further down the webpage). The application must reach the school no later than May, 3rd 2010. There is a special date for submission of sample work, see below. To your application you must also enclose a copy of your passport or birth certificate. When applying for two programmes you must submit two application forms and two sets of sample work. There is a special date for submission of sample work for the one-year programs.

When applying to the SPECIALIST CRAFT TUTOR program you must show examples of your work, at least 5 drawings and 3 paintings. It is important that you hand in the accurat number of works for your application to be accepted.
The material for your drawings is optional – graphite, indian ink, carbon or crayon. The drawings should be made on paper. The painting material is also optional – oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolour, pastel chalk or spray colour. The paintings should be made on canvas, board or paper. We prefer all these work samples to be originals.
The work samples should be mounted on up to six steady cardboards with the maximum size of 50x70 centimeters. Only display your works on the front of the cardboards. You may place more than one work on each cardboard. Make sure that each cardboard has your name and address on the backside.
It is possible to enclose paintings on splined canvas, stapled stretched canvas or on canvas board. One canvas painting will then be accepted as equivalent to one cardboard. The school doesn’t accept work samples that have a glass frame or that exceeds the maximum size.
Work samples larger than 50x70cm (maximum size) may be presented as photographs on a paper copy and can be regarded as obligatory work samples. Always state the original size, material and technique used.
Other work samples that you would like to show, apart from the obligatory ones, may be made in optional materials and be based on your own choice of drawing or painting techniques. These work samples doesn’t have to be presented as originals - paper copies or photographs are accepted. Three-dimensional work samples may only be presented as photographs ( use paper copies). Include information about the size, material and technique used on the work samples that are presented as a copy or photo (mounted on cardboard).
The work samples should have arrived at the school no later than May 3rd 2010. You may only hand in your samples personally at Nyckelviksskolan (Granvägen 1 and 3, Lidingö) during Monday, May 3rd, from 9.00 until 17.00. Please note that this is the only day for handing in the work samples in person.
You can also send your work samples by post, please don’t forget to post them in time. Work samples that arrive in parcels by post at the school later than May, 3rd, are not accepted.

Based on your eligibility and written account on why you wish to become a Specialist Craft Tutor, your work samples and other qualifications, a number of applicants are selected for an interview at Nyckelviksskolan between May 24th to May 28th 2010.
COLLECT YOUR WORK SAMPLES - JUNE 2nd or 3rd 2010
The work samples may be collected on Wednesday June, 2nd from 8.00 until 19.00 or on Thursday June, 3rd from 8.00 until 19.00.
If you have difficulties collecting your work samples in person, you must send an e-mail or letter requesting the school to send back your work samples to your address. The request for returning your work samples by post must be sent to Nyckelviksskolan prior to June, 3rd. The school will charge you a cash-on-delivery fee, a postage fee plus an administrative fee of 100 SEK for the service to return your work samples. Work samples that are not collected or requested to be sent back prior to June, 3rd will be discarded.
